Multi-million pound water win for Carillion

Support services and construction company Carillion has won a £10.66million contract for Northumbrian Water.


Carillion Water has won the multi million pound contract to construct the Layer 145 project in the Essex and Suffolk water region.

It is the third contract that Carillion has won at the Water Treatment plant near Colchester.

The works will cover the procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of upgrade facilities including a new high lift pumping station, site High Voltage and Low Voltage electrical upgrade, new standby generation facilities, filter control and monitoring facilities, together with major connecting pipe-work and other ancillary infrastructure works.

Work is due to start mid March and is expected to finish in August 2008.
