How to find Kielder

Kielder by road

From Carlisle and the M6
Take the A69 to Newcastle for approx 35 miles then turn north onto the A6079 towards Bellingham. Travel through Chollerford and Wark and then follow the brown tourist signs for Kielder Water. Once you see the reservoir, which will be on your right, follow the main road for 5 miles to Leaplish Waterside Park.

From Newcastle and the A1
Take the A69 to Hexham for approx 20 miles then turn north onto the A6079 towards Bellingham. Travel through Chollerford and Wark and then follow the brown tourist signs for Kielder Water. Once you see the reservoir, which will be on your right, follow the main road for 5 miles to Leaplish Waterside Park.

From Scotland
Take the A68 south to the B6320 junction for Bellingham. Turn right here and follow the brown signs to Kielder Water. Once you see the reservoir that will be on your right, follow the main road for 5 miles to Leaplish Waterside Park.

Kielder by rail

Newcastle Central is the nearest Intercity station and offers regular services to Hexham. Newcastle has superb rail links to all parts of the UK with direct trains to London [3hrs], Aberdeen, Bristol, Birmingham, Glasgow, Sheffield and cross-Pennine routes to Manchester and Liverpool.
