In Essex & Suffolk Water a Skilled Technician will be involved with assembling and installation of new plant and equipment as well as dealing with breakdown and repairs.
Mechanical Technicians will work on pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, compound fittings, some fabrication and pipework and fault finding.
Electrical Technicians will be involved in motor repairs, fault investigation, circuitry fault finding and replacement, thermographic and fault finding diagnostics, PLC operation and some software interrogation and New Projects build.
Technicians in both disciplines will undertake planned maintenance and are part of a team who ensure that the plants and asset work to their peak performance.
You will need to be an analytical person, someone who can think things through to work out what is causing a problem and then be practical enough to fix it.
