With its spectacular views over the surrounding countryside, stylish new interior design and quality food and drink is set to be a popular destination for all.

Overlooking the magnificent Hanningfield reservoir and nature reserve, the picturesque backdrop will be a wonderful accompaniment to your meal or drinks. There is even a large decking area outside should you choose to enjoy your food alfresco and watch a fishing boat or two gently meander to and from the jetty.

The interior has been completely redesigned to deliver a very enjoyable and dining experience in an unusual venue at the Fishingsp Lodge on Giffords Lane. Café on the water will serve a mouth watering selection of delicious main meals, sandwiches, salads and desserts from its "summer days" range. There will also be a selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages to accompany your meal.

There are ample parking facilities and an on site shop which sells a range of clothing, confectionary, ices and leisure supplies should you wish to turn your trip into an enjoyable day out.

The nature reserve next to the Café on the water is renowned for the wildlife it is home to and has proved very popular with bird watchers across the region. A walking trail will take you through to the nature reserve to Essex Wildlife Trust Visitor Centre. Alternatively why not try you hand at a spot of fishing!

So make a day of it and pay a visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Please note: The lodge will close to the public from 24th December 2008 until Friday 16th January 2009 inclusive.  January opening hours for the restaurant - from 16th January 2009 - Friday, Saturday, Sunday only - each week until Monday 16th February 2009 where we are open 7 days a week.
