Water butts

Did you know that 90,000 litres of rainfall onto a typical roof in any one year, that’s enough to fill 473 water butts!

Capture rainfall all year round by placing a water butt by sheds, greenhouses and conservatories.  Afterall, rainwater is much better for your plants and saves drinking water too.

Water storing mat and crystals

In the summer months, up to 70% of the water used in the home is poured and sprinkled on to our gardens. Gardening is a popular past time and the garden itself is a great place to enjoy sunny days. At Essex & Suffolk Water, we understand this and recognise that water is needed to keep gardens looking their best. However, conserving water is very important, especially so in this, the driest region of the country. Watering in the evening and making sure you choose the right plants are just two simple things you can do to reduce the amount of water used when gardening.
