Essex & Suffolk Water depends on thousands of suppliers for the provision of works, goods and services to maintain the high level of front-line services that our customers have come to expect from our organisation. Essex & Suffolk Water spends millions of pounds with those suppliers every year through hundreds of buyers in all parts of its business.  The involvement of these buyers in the procurement process can range from contributing to the setting up and operation of long term Framework Agreements and Call Off Contracts, through to the direct placing of Purchase Orders with suppliers and the use of Purchasing Cards for low-level transactional uses.

The Essex & Suffolk Water Procurement Team has a role in the acquisition of all of these third party works, goods and services. However, the extent and timing of the Procurement Team’s role is determined by the degree of risk, technical complexity and the value associated with a transaction.
