Metered charges in Essex

35p per day or £127 for the year starting 1st April 2008 is the bill for customers on a meter 20mm in size.

If you pay by direct debit directly to us, this amount is reduced by £3.00.

Charges (for the period of 1 April 2008 - 31 March 2009)

Your metered water and services bill is in two parts:

• A fixed charge.
• A charge for the amount you use (usage) measured in cubic metres.

          A cubic metre is 1000 litres or 220 gallons.

You pay:

• A fixed charge of £30.00.
• A charge of 97.79p per cubic metre.

Your sewerage charges

If your wastewater services are provided by Thames Water, Essex & Suffolk Water collects the charges on their behalf. Their charges for the year commencing 1st April 2008 are as follows:

• A fixed charge £45.00.
• A charge of 51.93p per cubic metre.

If your wastewater services are provided by Anglian Water you will receive a bill from them for sewerage charges, you can contact them for any billing queries on 0845 791 9155.

If your enquiry is about your bill please contact Essex & Suffolk Water on 0845 782 0111.

Surface Water Drainage

If you have a water meter, Thames Water will consider reducing your measured sewerage charge if you can prove that you return less than 90% of the water supplied to you based on one year's consumption. Please contact them for an application form if you believe you are eligible to make a claim.

If you believe that surface water from your property does not drain to Thames Water’s sewers, ring Thames Water's drainage line on 0845 920 0888 to ask for an application form to apply for a reduction  based on pipe size. You will need to say on the form what the drainage arrangements are for your property. Thames Water will investigate your application and tell you whether or not you are eligible for a reduction in your bill.
