Investing for the future
In the south east we enjoy excellent drinking water and we continue to invest to improve services to you and to protect the environment for future generations. This year Northumbrian Water Limited, of which Essex & Suffolk Water is a part, will be investing about £225 million to:
• Make major improvements to water treatment works to enable us to continue to meet the highest drinking water standards. Work will continue to be carried out at Layer in Essex and Walpole in Suffolk.
• Manage the security of water supplies in Essex by keeping leakage down, installing meters at newly occupied properties and preparing plans to increase water resources at Abberton.
• Maintain our water treatment works, mains and pumping stations.
On average, prices will increase by 4.3% this year. Our regulatory price limit allowed us to increase prices by an additional 1% but we decided voluntarily not to use this allowance.
Our charges represent excellent value for money.
