DIY Home Survey
In the current economic climate Essex & Suffolk Water are committed to helping our customers save water, and save money. The key to water efficiency is reducing waste and unnecessary usage, rather than restricting your water use. Wise water use is a key factor in the protection of our environment, and whilst you are helping to protect nature you can also save money!
The 'DIY Home Survey' is one of our newest and most innovative water efficiency projects. Reducing the 
amount of water you waste can provide a saving on your water bill (for metered customers) and energy bills can also be reduced by reducing hot water usage.
The DIY Home Survey will show you where and how much water you use in and around your home. The survey is very simple and takes less than 20 minutes to complete. There are a few easy tasks to undertake and in order to help you we have produced a short video demonstrating these tasks.
When you have completed your survey come back to this page and fill in our online input form. As you input the details of your water use, we will give you helpful hints and tips showing you how and where you can save water and money. Customers of Essex & Suffolk Water will be offered the opportunity to
request some free water saving 
devices and a free gift for taking part in our DIY
home survey.

A stopwatch (or a watch with a second hand)
A pen/pencil
A bucket
A measuring jug
Your printed form to take down measurements (as per the link below)

This will bring you to our online input form where you can input the information you have collected while doing your survey. As you input your information we will give you some helpful hints and tips as to how you can save water, and save money.
