Employees from Essex & Suffolk Water are showing a lot of bottle to raise cash for charity.
They will be guessing how many bottles of Essex & Suffolk Water’s tap water - which is called ‘97’ – have been crammed into a Fiesta car to raise cash for the Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Employees will pay a cash donation of £1 towards the cancer charity event, which takes place on September 29th, for each guess they make. The winner will receive a bottle of champagne.
The tap water comes in 500ml size bottles and its name reflects the 97 tests that tap water goes through from source to tap.
Other fundraising activities that employees will be taking part in during the coffee morning, which takes place at Hanningfield water treatment works, include making donations for homemade cakes and a raffle.
Macmillan Cancer Support provides practical, medical, emotional and financial support to those living with cancer.
Organiser Pauline Edwards from Essex & Suffolk Water said: “We are delighted to help Macmillan Cancer Support.
“They give people help when they are at their lowest so it is nice to be able to give something back.”
