Employees at Essex & Suffolk Water have gone back to school to provide pupils at Westcliff High School for Girls with an insight into the wonderful world of water.
The project specially developed by Essex & Suffolk Water includes many different elements about working in the water industry, including the engineering and business requirements for developing and building a new water tower and the associated pipework.
Pupils completed practical tasks during the day and also had the chance to develop their team working and presentation skills.
Jacqueline Searle, communications advisor at Essex & Suffolk Water said: “Essex & Suffolk Water works closely with several secondary schools around the county, including Westcliff High School for Girls, to give pupils an insight into the world of working for a water company.
“We have developed the project over several years to include a variety of elements to allow pupils to develop different skills including team work, maths and business studies. At the same time we hope they will go away with some positive ideas about working in a modern business such as the water industry.”
