Cricketing personality Keith Fletcher took a record-breaking a catch at Hanningfield reservoir when he reeled in the biggest trout to be caught there in two years.
The former England cricket captain caught the 11lb 8oz rainbow trout during one of his weekly fishing trips to the reservoir.
Keith said: “'I have fished at Hanningfield for 25 years and I consider it the best still water fishery in which to fish.
“The fish are always a challenge to catch and delicious to eat. It was a real thrill to catch this big one.”
Hanningfield is renowned for producing rainbow trout and 2,000 of these fish will be released at the back end of the fishing season.
Dave Rounce, senior ranger at Hanningfield reservoir said: “Keith comes fishing here on a regular basis and really enjoys using the facilities. He was very pleased with his catch.
“He has set other anglers to the reservoir bit of a challenge - everyone is now trying to beat his record.”
