New pipelines for Essex

Essex & Suffolk Water’s treatment works at Layer needs to increase the volume of water it produces in order to meet the growing demands of the south Essex area.
This means the pipelines that distribute the water from the Layer works also need to be enlarged so they can carry an increased volume of water.
The 10.5 kilometre pipeline is being installed in two sections, between Layer treatment works and just east of Tiptree and the second section from Butts Green to Slough House, near Hanningfield.
