Two community groups have received grants from the Essex & Suffolk Water Community Fund.

Help the Aged in Southend has been awarded £720 to install safety and security kits in houses of vulnerable elderly residents.

Castle Point Triangle Club, which helps those with sight problems, has been awarded £500 towards the cost of transport for the club.

   The Fund is managed by Essex Community Foundation, an independent charitable trust which manages funds on behalf of individuals, companies and public agencies that wish to support voluntary and community activity in Essex.

The Essex & Suffolk Water Community Fund is available to a wide range of organisations throughout Essex and Suffolk. It focuses on protecting the environment, promoting health and well-being, education in the community and community support in areas of regeneration.

Any voluntary or community organisation within the counties of Essex and Suffolk that are situated or operate within the Essex & Suffolk Water supply area and fulfil at least one of the above criteria can apply to the Fund.
