A new footpath in South Hanningfield will provide residents with a safer walkway and a chance to get closer to nature.
The path, built by Essex & Suffolk Water, runs from South Hanningfield Tye to Essex & Suffolk Water’s Fishing Lodge on Giffords Lane, South Hanningfield.
It will be opened by Simon Lyster, a non-executive director for Essex & Suffolk Water, at 8.30am on March 21st 2007. Members of South Hanningfield Parish Council and pupils from the local school will be present at the opening.
The path was built as part of ongoing improvement work in and around Hanningfield reservoir.
It will provide walkers with excellent views of Hanningfield reservoir and will benefit members of the local community, walkers to the area and children walking to school.
David Alborough, property manager for Essex & Suffolk Water said: “The footpath is a very worthwhile addition to the Hanningfield area and we hope that those who use it find it beneficial.”
Philip Schneidau from South Hanningfield Parish Council added: “We are very pleased with the new footpath. It will provide safe access for the inhabitants of south Hanningfield. Those who use it will also have the chance to get closer to nature.”
