A fundraising fishing event casts off the November season at Hanningfield fishery.
The Fred Neville Day on November 1st has been organised to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
The day takes place each year in memory of ranger Fred Neville who worked as both a forester and ranger at Hanningfield reservoir for a number of years and suffered heart problems.
The event runs from 9am-4pm and a boat for two people costs £40. A boat for one person costs £25 and bank fishing is £15. Fly fishing and spinning will be permitted on the day.
Dave Rounce from Hanningfield fishery said: “We are pleased to be able to raise money for such a good cause through this fishing day. The event has been a real success in previous years and this year we hope to raise more money than we ever have before.”
Spinning and fly fishing will be available at Hanningfield throughout November. Opening times are 8am-3.30pm until November 30th 2007 when the fishing season ends.
The cost of a day boat during this time is £13 and the cost of eight fish is £13.
