Fun way to save water

05/11/2007

A cub group is learning how to save water and have fun at the same time with help from a newly launched activity sheet

The Fourth-Six Leigh cub group from Leigh on Sea were the first to see the information resource when it was launched during an environmental evening at the cub’s headquarters.

Essex & Suffolk Water has designed an activity sheet to encourage children to think about how much water they use and how they can use less by cutting down how much they waste.

The sheet also contains puzzles, a word search and a copy of the water cycle to colour in.

Tina Betts, assistant cub leader said: “The activity sheets were very well received by the children who found them informative and fun to use.

“They are a great way to get the children thinking about why saving water is so important.”

Tom Andrewartha from the demand planning department at Essex & Suffolk Water said: “In this dry part of the country you can never be too young to learn water-saving tips.

“This sheet is a great way to help spread the water-wise message in a fun and exciting way.”

The sheet is available on the Essex & Suffolk Water website at www.eswater.co.uk or by calling 01245 212 360.
