Timescales
Two planning applications for the Scheme were submitted on 14th December 2007.
The following timescales are approximate and depend on the outcome of the applications for permission:

| 2008/09 | Decision on applications |
| Summer 2009 | Work starts on pipeline to carry water to Abberton |
| Winter 2010 | Pipelines completed |
| 2010 | Construction work begins at the reservoir |
| 2013 | Enhanced reservoir starts to receive water |
| 2014 | Enhanced reservoir fully operational |
