STAFF at a firm raised thousands of pounds in memory of a former colleague.
Sarah-Jane Green, of Essex and Suffolk Water, organised a charity ball with the help of her colleagues, to raise money for Broomfield Hospital.
More than £5,000 was raised, in memory of former colleague Julie Miller, who died of a stroke in March last year.
Staff from Essex and Suffolk Water presented the funds to hospital staff. The money will be split between the Intensive Care Unit and the Stroke Appeal at Broomfield, to buy monitoring equipment for both units.
Dr Kevin Kiss said: "We are very grateful for the donation, it will make an enormous difference to the people of Essex who come in for treatment at the hospital."
