Essex & Suffolk Water have launched a Community Portal to keep residents of Bradwell updated on the current installation work on Beccles Road.
The Community Portal enables the company to act on the needs and concerns of their 1.8 million customers in communities in Essex and Suffolk. The Portal ensures that you are not only kept fully informed of the activities that affect your community, but that you have visible and audible input into them.
The first three phases of a major water mains improvement scheme being carried out by Essex & Suffolk Water on Beccles Road, Bradwell, are well under way and progressing ahead of schedule. This is a major scheme, which will involve the installation of 4.8km of new water main, and the construction of a new pumping station at the Lound Treatment Works.
This investment scheme, which started on Monday 17 September, has so far seen the installation of over 450 metres of new ductile iron pipe on Beccles Road. The scheme will increase the capacity of the existing water network in the area, allowing Essex & Suffolk Water to provide a more efficient service to their customers.
Charles Thackeray, Network Design and Construction Manager for Essex & Suffolk Water said "Works are progressing very well and the team on site have worked extremely hard, including weekends, to complete the work with as little disruption as possible.
"I would like to thank the local residents for their patience during this time and would like to assure them we are doing everything we can complete the works safely, efficiently and ahead of programme."
Phase four of the works is scheduled to begin on Monday 29 October. During this time a road closure will be in place on in the following locations:
• Beccles Road from the junction with Mill Lane to the junction with Crab Lane.
Essex & Suffolk Water ask that people use the official diversion routes marked out during these works and observe the speed limits.
