Book a free water efficiency home visit

As part of our commitment to protect the environment and secure future water supplies, we’re offering some customers a free water efficiency home visit to help lower bills and cut down on water waste around the home.

Who's eligible for a free home visit?

Eligibility is based on how scarce water is in your area and how much your household uses. 

 

We calculate your water usage based on:

  • Your meter readings.
  • The average usage for your house type and size.
  • The number of people living in your household.

To make sure this information is correct, you can review and update your details in your online account or in our app.

What happens during the visit?

We’ve teamed up with water and energy specialists, Cenergist to carry out these visits. If you’re eligible, one of their qualified plumbers will visit your home to help you save water, cut energy use, and lower your bills.

 

During the visit, they will:

  • Check taps, showers, and toilets for small leaks. 
  • Fix minor leaks on the spot.
  • Offer to install handy water-saving devices.
  • Discuss your water use and help identify ways to reduce water waste.
  • If you are comfortable and able to do so, we will ask you to submit a meter reading before and after your visit to help us measure your savings.

The visit takes around 60 minutes and it's all completely free. These simple upgrades reduce water waste without changing your daily routine.

Why are we offering free visits?

More people are using water, but there isn’t any more to go around. With a growing population and climate change, the UK could face water shortages as soon as 2050.
