Water Direct using benefit payments can help you get back on track with your payments. 

If you get a qualifying benefit from the Government, and you're more than £50 behind on your payments to us, Water Direct can help you.

How does it work?

You'll fill in an application that we take to the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). 


The DWP will decide if we can collect payments straight from your benefits, before they're paid to you. This means you don't need to worry about forgetting to make payments.


The payments will go towards paying off money owed, as well as your latest bill.


We'll also stop any recovery action, as long as you use Water Direct.

Qualifying criteria

To apply for Water Direct, you must have an active, open account with us and you must receive one of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Income Based Employment & Support Allowance
  • Pension Credit, or
  • Universal Credit.
