What is the bill cap scheme?

The bill cap scheme caps your metered bill, so you don't pay extra if you need to use more water due to a large family or a medical condition that requires a lot of water, and you receive income-related benefits.

Am I eligible? 

The bill cap scheme can help you if:

1. You have a water meter, and
2. You have three or more children living with you, or someone in your household has a medical condition that uses a lot of water, and,
3. You receive at least one of the following benefits:

• Pension credit
• Income Support
• Income Related Employment and Support Allowance
• Income based Job Seekers Allowance
• Working Tax Credit
• Child Tax Credit (not including family element-only claimants)
• Housing Benefit, or
• Universal Credit.

You must meet all three criteria above to be eligible.
