Changes to the way you pay your bill

Changes to the way you pay your bill

From 1 April 2024, London Borough of Havering Council will no longer be collecting payments from you for your water and sewerage bill.

What do I need to do?

In February, you received a welcome letter from us with your unique account reference.

You can use this number to create an online account to manage your account and pay your bill. It only takes a few minutes, and you'll be able to set up a Direct Debit, payment plan, view your bills, update your contact details, and more.

How do I pay my bill?

In March you received your bill that includes your unmetered water and sewerage charges for 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025. It provides you with all the information you need to know, including the options available to you to pay your bill.

You can also pay your bill by:

  • Downloading our app - it's a quick and secure way to make payments and check your bills.
  • Online payment  -  use your credit or debit card.
  • Call our automated payment line 0800 032 3415.
  • PayPoint card - you can use this wherever you see the PayPoint logo.

The amount you’ll pay us will be the same as if you were paying the council. The only difference will be if you received any discounts from them.

A water meter could save you on average £264 a year and reduce the amount of water you use by up to 20%.  It could not only reduce your bill, but also help save water and protect our local environment.

To find out if a water meter is right for you, try our water usage calculator to see if you can save money.

Extra support with Priority Services

We've got a great range of free Priority Services available to all our customers.

Our Priority Services include:

  • a password scheme, so you know when our colleagues are visiting your home
  • telling our team know you may need a little more time to get to the door or phone
  • bottled water delivery for those with ill health or mobility issues, during disruptions to the water supply.

And even if you don't think you need these Priority Services, you may know someone who does. Spread the word, so we can help as many of our neighbours as we can.
